I Pledge

In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. ⏤ Psalm 25:1,4-5

Knowing starts with trust. Who do I trust enough to offer my loyalty? More than offer ⏤ pledge. Trust, a pledge of allegiance, and love (gift of self) form a covenant package that will establish my steps. Others may want this package from me, but it belongs to God alone.

Quaternity?

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me ⏤ John 5:39

We profess that God is one, in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But in our conversation, we can sound like the Bible is also divine. The Scriptures are God's message (Greek logos) to a called-out, chosen people. In them, God reveals himself and shows us how to live an eternal kind of life with him. They are a message, breathed by the message-Giver.

Promising Culture

I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another. — Romans 15:14

No culture is perfect, but here, Paul calls out some things that work together for health. First, goodness. In the world, good can be whatever people decide is good. Paul is noticing a goodness that's shaped by God's goodness. The people know God and his ways. They ably articulate his ways and have an expectation of alignment. Finally, there's a 'one another' here. Instruction that's more peer-to-peer than teacher-student.
